Illustration I did for the current issue of Bloomberg of Businessweek about the John Carter movie.
The original version had the director, Andrew Stanton, posing as John Carter, but that got changed back to the actor last minute. I'm posting both and you can decide which works better!

  1. Awesome. Why is Nemo upset, he didn't like the movie?
A crit I have is the construction of the knee is a bit wonky, and appears flat. You can use stroke across the thigh rather than along it to bring out the cylindrical form.
Oh, and usually in a pose like that, the inserts of the obliques dips a bit further away from the latissimus dorsi, and not as much of an overlap.
